About Campsite Alerts

Let's face it, camping is getting more popular than ever. While it's great that more people are getting outside and enjoying the great outdoors, it is causing an issue with campgrounds and campsite availability. The number of campgrounds and campsites isn't growing nearly as fast as the number of new RVers. This is resulting in many campgrounds being completely full and sold out on weekends and holidays, and popular campgrounds being booked every day of the week, months in advance. And when additional sites do become available for booking, they typically are gone within seconds, especially at popular campgrounds. It can be very frustrating to say the least.

So does this mean you can never get a campsite at a popular and high demand campground? Not necessarily. While your chances of getting one when they first become available for booking are slim to none, you have a second chance to get one later. The trick is relying on the fact that people change plans, and they do it quite often. This results in them changing their reservation dates or cancelling altogether, and when that happens, a site opens up that you can book. Usually this happens by chance, you just happen to be looking for a campsite at the moment someone cancels. Of course you can't be constantly checking the reservation site watching for this to happen, but I created an app that can. You tell it where you want to go and when, and then it checks for openings every few minutes and alerts you as soon as it finds something. Then you can jump on the reservation site and book it!

Note that Campsite Alerts currently only supports public campgrounds (state, national, army corp, and some county parks).
